Aurora Plastics LLC is acquiring the assets of JPI South in a move that supports growth and enhances services.

The acquisition gives Aurora Plastics the strategic flexibility to pursue future growth opportunities in the U.S. and abroad, CEO Darrell Hughes said in a statement.

“Its location in the heart of the PVC industry also puts us in close proximity to our critical supply partners,” Hughes said.

As part of the transaction, the Streetsboro-based company has entered into a long-term lease for the former JPI site in Pasadena, Texas, giving Aurora Plastics proximity to suppliers while enhancing its ability to serve customers in the western and southern part of the U.S.

The company plans to invest significant capital to bring state-of-the-art equipment and technology into the facility to create a PVC blending location. Upgrades will be completed over the next few quarters. Aurora Plastics anticipates that production at the Pasadena facility will begin in the first quarter of 2019.

This is the third acquisition that Aurora Plastics has made in the last twelve months, after purchasing S&E Specialty Polymers in Lunenburg, Mass., and Reinier Plastics in and Marieville, Quebec.
