Electronic Merchant Systems, a payment solutions provider headquartered in Cleveland, is acquiring Total Touch POS, a provider of point of sale solutions in the hospitality industry. Under the agreement, Total Touch POS will function as a wholly owned subsidiary of EMS. The acquisition is expected to strengthening EMS's ability to serve the hospitality industry and accelerate EMS's software-driven payments strategy by maximizing efficiency and increasing product offerings for retailers and restaurateurs. "By joining forces with EMS, we can fortify our software with the newest technology — equipping us to better serve the table and counter service segments of the restaurant industry," says Vince Becker, vice president of Total Touch POS, in a statement. "We will continue to leverage Total Touch POS's integrations [e.g., liquor control systems, online mobile ordering, tokenization of credit transactions and kiosks], while benefiting from EMS's financial strength, payments expertise and product offerings."
