Akron’s MobilityWorks has acquired Accessible Mobility Center in Concord, North Carolina, adding to its existing van showroom and service center in Charlotte. The company now has 72 locations in 24 states. “We are extremely pleased to have Accessible Mobility Center become a part of our family,” MobilityWorks President Eric Mansfield said in a statement. “I anticipate this being a very smooth transition and we look forward to expanding our service in the Charlotte metro area.” Dan Plondke, the former owner of Accessible Mobility Center, will oversee operations for the Concord location. MobilityWorks is the nation's largest retailer of wheelchair accessible vans, selling new and pre-owned modified vans for wheelchair accessibility and providing rental vans and adaptive equipment such as hand controls, turning seats and scooter lifts. MobilityWorks also manufactures and sells a variety of commercial vehicles to business clients throughout the U.S.
