Oatey Co., the Cleveland-based manufacturer and distributor of plumbing supplies, has acquired G.F. Thompson Co. Ltd., a Newmarket, Ontario-based manufacturer and distributor of plumbing and HVAC supplies. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The addition of G.F. Thompson and its market-leading Masters brand significantly strengthens our ability to serve the Canadian market,” Oatey CEO Neal Restivo said in a statement.

G. F. Thompson’s Masters line targets the plumbing, HVAC, industrial and retail trades. Oatey has been keeping an eye out for growth opportunities. Late last year, the company acquired select assets of QuickDrain USA, a Denver-based developer, manufacturer and marketer of low-profile linear drain and shower pan systems for showers and wet areas. Restivo said that deal increased Oatey’s presence and capabilities in the commercial market for rough-plumbing products.

Earlier in 2017, Oatey also acquired select assets of Set-Rite Products Co., which manufactures a patented toilet flange spacer system that can be used for retrofit applications as well as new construction. Oatey said at the time that it considered the Set-Rite product to be complementary to its existing offerings.
