Richard Starr closed the books on 40 years running his HVAC business with the sale this month of Twinsburg-based The Enterprise Corp. to Campbell Inc. of Toledo. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal unites two members of the Linc Service network owned by ABM Franchising Group, a portfolio of franchise networks providing mechanical and electrical service and preventive maintenance services to commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. “I want to ensure a smooth transition for our employees and an uninterrupted delivery of best-in-class solutions to our clients, so Campbell is the obvious choice,” Starr said in a statement. “I am proud of what we have built over the last forty years. I have every confidence everyone will continue to thrive with Campbell.” Starr, who bought the business in 1977, says he grew the operation to more than 35 times its original size. Campbell President Kris Campbell cited the shared Linc Service franchise, complementary geographies and similar operating principles as keys to the deal. “By uniting the businesses, we will be able to provide an expansive portfolio of HVAC, mechanical and energy efficiency solutions throughout Northern Ohio,” he said.
