Ellis and Solomon Yan, the former heads of TCP International Holdings Ltd., are absorbing their former company into their newly created Quality Light Source GmbH now that the merger has officially closed. In mid-February, TCP shareholders voted to approve the merger that was announced back in December. Daily operations will begin to consolidate over the next several months and TCP shareholders will get $1 per share in cash. "We see this as an opportunity to take all of the great resources and recognition that TCP has in the lighting market and combine that with a new and fresh approach to products and manufacturing that we have developed at QLS," said Ellis Yan, newly announced CEO of the combined QLS and TCP organization, in a statement. The merger caps off a dramatic year that saw the resignations of the Yan brothers from TCP, their return to the industry as the heads of QLS, and now the retaking of their former company.
