C. Christopher (Cris) Gaut currently serves as Executive Chairman of the Board of Forum Energy Technologies, having previously served as founding Chief Executive Officer and Chairman from August 2010. He served as an Operating Partner at SCF Partners, a leading energy focused private equity firm from November 2009 to August 2010, and from May 2017 to November 2018. Mr. Gaut served at Halliburton Company, a leading diversified oilfield services company, as President of the Drilling and Evaluation Division and prior to that as Chief Financial Officer, from March 2003 through April 2009.

Prior to joining Halliburton Company, Mr. Gaut was Chief Financial Officer and Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of Ensco International (now Valaris plc), a provider of offshore contract drilling services. He has also served on a number of corporate boards including EOG Resources (currently Audit Committee chairman), TD Williamson (chairman), and previously on Key Energy Services (lead independent director), KBR (chairman), Ensco, and Reservoir Group (Chairman).

Mark Jones focuses his practice primarily in the energy industry, with substantial experience in the financial services, manufacturing, transportation and technology industries. His depth of experience with energy clients has given him a high level of proficiency in handling a broad range of client issues and needs.

Mark has been the lead counsel for more than 200 mergers and acquisitions transactions, with a significant portion of those transactions in the energy sector. Over 70 of such acquisitions involve the acquisition of oil and gas assets for as much as US$1.2bn. He has also been the lead lawyer in more than 200 public and private securities offerings. He frequently represents private equity firms and management teams with their ventures.

Having served as in-house counsel for a number of years, Mark understands client needs and is very responsive. He has a pragmatic business approach and provides creative solutions to client issues.
