I’ve built and sold two companies—most recently ThreatSwitch in 2022 after an earlier exit. Stayed on with the buyer, Sign In Solutions, until April 2024, where I’m still an investor. Now I coach early-stage tech founders (catch me on MentorCruise: https://mentorcruise.com/mentor/johndillard/), invest in startups I believe in (solo and with VentureSouth), and run early stage experiments. I also mentor with Techstars and EO Accelerator to help new entrepreneurs break through.

Before ThreatSwitch, I co-founded Big Sky Associates, a firm that tackled tech-driven process challenges for defense and national security clients—think Army security clearance overhauls, which scored me the US Army Commander’s Award for Public Service. Earlier, I was an analyst at the CIA and a Navy Reserve officer. I’ve worn a lot of hats, but I’m most excited about what’s next.
