Exiting on Your Own Terms: Defining the Right Path for You and Your Business

Presented By: SD Capital / Womble Bond Dickinson

Exit planning isn’t one-size-fits-all—and it’s not always about selling your business right away. This session helps business owners take control of their own timelines and outcomes, whether that’s a full sale, partial liquidity, or continued involvement post-close. We’ll explore strategic considerations like tax mitigation, leadership succession, and navigating PE vs. strategic buyers. You’ll also hear how structures like earn-outs and rollover equity can offer flexibility and upside. Whether you’re years away from a transition or simply exploring options, this session helps you define the outcome that works best for you.
