Continental Services, Michigan’s largest food management company, has acquired Canton-based Sterling Services, creating Michigan’s largest founder-owned contract dining management company.
“With its track record of innovation, consistent core values, an outstanding market reputation, and robust sales and service teams, Sterling Services is a great fit,” Continental President Steve LaPorte said in a statement.
This is Continental's fifth strategic acquisition in the past 18 months as the company works toward achieving its long-term growth and expansion objectives.
Here are some highlights of the deal:
- Sterling Services brings a strong customer base and a broad array of services, including corporate dining, micro markets, vending and office coffee to add to Continental’s portfolio of dining, refreshment services and events brands.
- The entire Sterling Services leadership team and staff will be incorporated into the Continental team.
- Continental is a portfolio company of New Heritage Capital, a Boston-based private equity firm that partners with growing, middle-market, founder-owned businesses.
