Amastan Technologies has acquired AL Solutions Inc., which recycles titanium scrap into essential inputs for metal alloys for the aerospace, automotive and medical industries.

With the acquisition, and $11 million from a just-closed Series B-2 funding round, Amastan plans to accelerate into full production mode and manufacture premium metal powders from sustainable sources.

The Washington County-based company will be rebranded as Amastan Additive. AL Solutions CEO Frank Roberts has been named president.

The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Amastan had its initial Series B funding round of $13.85 million in the fourth quarter of 2017. The company plans to build a new additive manufacturing metal powders facility, which combines AL Solutions’ proprietary metal handling processing with its technology.
