The 13 attorneys and 12 support staff from Philadelphia-based Christie & Young PC have joined the Pittsburgh firm Burns White LLC. This expands Burns White’s reach in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and should enhance the firm’s already robust health care and professional liability practice areas.
“The blending of our two firms is a natural fit — allowing us to strengthen our presence in the Philadelphia market as part of a strategic growth initiative and to deepen our bench strength,” Burns White CEO David B. White said, in a statement.
For Christie & Young, Burns White’s geographic footprint, expanded service offerings, and wide-ranging experience in health care and professional liability litigation was part of the appeal. “With 28 practice groups and talented litigators throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, we will be able to provide clients with the benefits and resources of a larger firm while continuing to ensure high-quality legal representation,” Christie & Young Managing Shareholder and Founding Member James A. Young stated. “We think this is a great fit for our firm, and our clients seem just as excited about this combination as are we.”
Christie & Young attorneys and support staff joining Burns White will remain at their current location at 1880 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Center City. The merging of the two firms will result in Burns White having more than 52 attorneys in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and more than 150 attorneys firmwide.
