Copart Inc., a global online vehicle auction company, has acquired a second location in West Mifflin. This is Copart’s 11th location in Pennsylvania. It was purchased to meet the increased demands of buyers and sellers in the area.
The 68-acre property was a General Motors Fisher Body Plant from the 1940s through 2007. Copart has renovated the facility to accommodate the needs of its operations as well as those of its buyers and sellers. This facility is currently available for vehicle storage, with auctions beginning soon.
“This new facility will greatly increase our operational capabilities and readiness for increased volume in the Greater Pittsburgh area,” Copart General Manager William Shay said, in a statement.
With operations in over 200 locations in 11 countries, Copart has more than 125,000 vehicles available online every day.
