Par Mar Convenience Stores has reached a deal to acquire Mountaineer Marts, a 17-store chain based in Buckhannon, West Virginia, CStore Decisions reports. The strategic deal brings Par Mar’s store count to 137 units in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.
Pittsburgh-based Croton Holding Co. bought Par Mar Oil Co., a Marietta, Ohio, company, in 2016. Its operating division Par Mar Stores owned 52 convenience stores, several car washes and 16 quick-service restaurants at the time.
The terms of this recent transaction were not disclosed. There are no immediate plans to rebrand the stores, and all current store employees will be retained, according to CStore Decisions.
