Dunbar, Bender & Zapf Inc., the largest independent regional retirement plan consulting and actuarial firm in the Pittsburgh area, is expanding its operations with the acquisition of the third party administration firm, Advanced Pension Designs LLC.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
APD, located in New Jersey, helps clients design retirement plans.
“APD was a natural fit as an experienced family-owned business for DBZ to continue our expansion of regional consultants,” DBZ President Nicholas J. Zapf said in a statement. "We look forward to partnering with both existing APD relationships as well as new relationships with financial advisers, record keepers and CPAs in the area."
With five shareholders and more than 65 employees, DBZ serves more than 2,500 clients.
