Pineapple Payments, a payments technology company, has acquired CardChamp, a fellow Pittsburgh-based payments company providing merchant services and payment processing solutions. CardChamp will join Pineapple Payments at its downtown Pittsburgh headquarters.
The acquisition provides CardChamp with access to Pineapple Payments’ proprietary payments technology and suite of omni-channel payment tools. Terms were not disclosed.
President and Founder Jimi Romanus will continue to oversee CardChamp business and operations.
Pineapple Payments, founded in 2016, had already acquired three companies — AthleteTrax, TRANSAX and Payline Data LLC. It also raised $35 million in a 2017 private equity funding round led by Providence Strategic Growth, according to crunchbase.
