Malvern-Based CertainTeed Corp. has acquired Lakewood, Ohio-based Norton Industries.
This acquisition of the maker of wood ceiling and wall designs is intended to improve CertainTeed's presence in the high-growth architectural specialties ceilings market.
"The Norton acquisition enhances our wood ceilings and walls portfolio with a strong lineup of products that complement our custom wood designs from Decoustics," CertainTeed Commercial Markets Vice President Seth Walton said in a statement. "The acquisitions of Norton today, and Hunter Douglas in 2018, combined with our Decoustics platform, reinforces CertainTeed's place as the home for high-performance specialty ceilings in North America."
Norton offers a diverse portfolio of finely crafted wood ceiling and wall designs that are featured in many prominent projects throughout North America. Norton has 33 employees at its North American ceilings operations in Lakewood.
