Ohio Transmission Corp., an industrial equipment service provider and distributor based in Columbus, has acquired Furey Filter & Pump and its subsidiary, PSI Engineering. The strategic acquisition will become a division of OTP Industrial Solutions and an important part of its pump, filtration, service and fabrication business.
Furey Filter & Pump and PSI Engineering — two companies that together have 65 employees in Wisconsin and Minnesota — will continue to operate under their current names and with current management, including President George Furey and Vice President Jack Furey.
Founded in 1956, Furey Filter & Pump, based in a Milwaukee suburb, supplies pumps, filtration, service and full-system engineering and fabrication, including certified welding capabilities.
Furey Filter & Pump acquired PSI Engineering in 2004. PSI, headquartered in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, is an industrial equipment distributor for pumps, filters, mechanical seals and valves. The company offers services to repair any fluid-handling equipment.
With this acquisition, Ohio Transmission Corp. now has 37 locations throughout the South, Southeast, Midwest and Northeast regions, along with 18 service shops. The transaction also expands the company’s existing workforce to nearly 1,000 employees.
