Cleveland-based b.a. Sweetie Candy Company has acquired Campbell’s Sweet Factory, a Cleveland popcorn and sweets manufacturer, according to a press release distributed by the company. Financial terms were not disclosed.
While b.a. Sweetie Candy Company, a family owned company purchased all of the assets of the popcorn kitchen, bakery, and retail locations, Jeff and Lynn Campbell will continue to manage the new Sweeties Campbell’s Popcorn Company for the near future.
“We’re proud to add the Campbell’s products to our existing offerings and are excited to increase the distribution of the popcorn items to our existing wholesale customers,” stated Tom Scheiman, president of b.a. Sweetie Candy Company. b.a. Sweetie supplies over 250 wholesale customers with candy and popcorn to the grocery, convenience, and specialty retail trade. Started in 1950, the company operates a 40,000 square foot distribution center and retail store on Brookpark Road in Cleveland Ohio.
Campbell’s Sweet Factory started in 2004 and operates a popcorn manufacturing and distribution facility in the Hildebrandt Building in Cleveland’s west side, a bakery and chocolate kitchen on West 25th Street and 2 locations within the historic West Side Market.
“We’re excited to have the support and expertise of b.a. Sweetie to grow the Campbell’s brands and are confident more North East Ohio consumers will be pleased with enjoying our delicious products” said Jeff Campbell.
