Flavorseal LLC has been acquired by M&Q Holdings LLC as it looks to leverage the Avon-based company’s packaging technology to dramatically change the food processing industry.

M&Q Holdings, an investment portfolio company of Capital Partners, is most interested in Flavorseal’s Seasoning Transfer Technology, which incorporates seasonings and flavors into various forms of flexible packaging for its food processing customers.

“We truly believe that Flavorseal’s Seasoning Transfer Technology will revolutionize the way packaging is utilized in the protein and food industries,” said Michael Schmal, president and CEO of M&Q Holdings, in a statement. “Instead of just protecting and extending shelf life of food products, Seasoning Transfer Technology allows the packaging to become an integral part of the product itself, by enhancing the appearance, quality, taste and aroma to food. We think this technology has the potential to dramatically change the food processing industry.”

Flavorseal will keep its name and operate as a division of M&Q Holdings LLC. It will also retain its operations in Avon with Chris Carroll as its president and CEO.

Customer and supplier interactions with Flavorseal will remain unchanged. M&Q intends to pair Flavorseal with its other companies, M&Q Packaging LLC, and the Outlook Group LLC, to become a one-stop shop for food packaging companies. Flavorseal was advised by Rothschild & Co and Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP.
