Hickok Inc., a Cleveland-based holding company, has acquired certain assets from Data Genomix Inc., also based in Cleveland.
The acquired business, which will operate under the name Data Genomix LLC, is an award-winning software company that specializes in social media marketing applications for political, legal and recruiting campaigns. The acquisition is expected to add less than $1 million in annual revenue in 2019.
While the acquisition might seem an odd fit for the industrial company, Hickok's Edward Crawford was part of a Series A funding round for the company in 2017 that also included Cleveland-based Zanite Ventures, according to Crunchbase. Hickok is majority controlled by Crawford and his son, Matthew, both executives with Park-Ohio Holdings.
