Cleveland-based HyComp LLC, a manufacturer of carbon fiber and thermoplastic composite components for the aerospace and industrial markets, has been acquired by Solon-based Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corp.

“HyComp’s joining Saint-Gobain gives us the opportunity to broaden our portfolio of critical parts for high-temperature and long-life applications in aerospace and industrial applications,” said Jean Angus, general manager of Performance Plastics’ Seals Division, in a statement.

Angus added that HyComp’s management team — led by President Gene Gargas —its design, engineering and quality control processes, and its advanced thermoplastic and thermoset manufacturing capabilities, will be “a perfect fit for Saint-Gobain.”

HyComp, which has 120 employees, was an award recipient at the 2018 Smart Business Evolution in Manufacturing conference.
