Safelite® Group, a vehicle glass services and recalibration company and owner of Safelite® AutoGlass, has acquired the assets of Auto Glass Specialists. The single store location in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, will expand Safelite’s brick-and-mortar footprint in the area, with the nearest Safelite location over 85 miles away.

This is Safelite’s second acquisition in 30 days. It agreed to buy TruRoad’s businesses in August, which serves consumers, insurance carriers and fleets across 17 states.

Auto Glass Specialists has been in business for 16 years, owned and managed by Austin Cavender since 2006. Auto Glass Specialists earned a solid reputation through diligence and hard work by its dedicated staff.

“This acquisition helps expand our customer reach in Colorado, while leveraging the strengths of both companies,” Safelite Group President and CEO Tom Feeney said, in a statement. “Austin instilled a commitment to customer service that nicely aligns with Safelite and our company’s purpose.”

Auto Glass Specialists will leverage Safelite’s operational systems, vehicle safety system expertise, distribution network, global purchasing power, and strong insurance and commercial relationships.

Safelite Group serves 10 million customers annually and employs 15,000 people throughout the United States. Based in Columbus, the company has been in business since 1947.
