The Blade in Toledo is reporting that ProMedica CEO Randy Oostra said the company is interested in Summa Health, a three-hospital system in Akron that is actively looking for a bigger partner.
Summa Health, a not-for-profit health system like ProMedica, hired financial advisers Kaufman Hall & Associates of Chicago to explore a partnership, Summa Health officials disclosed last month.
According to the report, Oostra cautioned that ProMedica has not made a formal proposal, but has continued to carry on conversations with Summa Health leaders over the years.
