Align Capital Partners-backed Pleatco Filtration has expanded into the industrial air filtration market with the acquisitions of APEL International and Milton Manufacturing. Align acquired Pleatco, a Glen Cove, New York-based manufacturer of advanced filtration products for pools and spas, in July 2017.

“The acquisitions of APEL and Milton are core to our strategy at Pleatco Filtration — to build a diversified, aftermarket focused filtration products company with an unwavering commitment to science and innovation,” said Align Capital Partners Managing Partner Rob Langley.

  • APEL designs and manufactures pleated filter cartridges, pleated bags and other filtration products for mission-critical industrial air applications for North American customers from its Louisville, Kentucky facility.
  • Milton, based in Milton, Ontario, is a provider of spun bond, paper, felt and pleated bag filters to OEM partners and customers in Canada and the United States.
  • Coincident with the acquisitions of APEL and Milton, Rick Von Drehle, Pleatco board member, becomes the company’s CEO.
  • Pleatco plans to build out its headquarters and senior management team in Louisville, leveraging a recently completed plant expansion at APEL.
