Sunless Inc., a Macedonia-based manufacturer and marketer of spray tanning equipment and related accessories, has been acquired by New York private equity firm Castle Harlan Inc. The seller was Cleveland-based private equity firm The Riverside Co.
Sunless, whose brands include Mystic Tan, Norvell and VersaSpa, introduced the first commercializing spray tanning booths in 2000, which are now installed in thousands of tanning salons, fitness clubs, beauty salons and other outlets. Sunless has developed several patents for its spray tanning booths, and also produces handheld spray tanning equipment.
Deal terms were not disclosed.
