The Davey Tree Expert Co. has acquired the commercial landscape company Elizabeth River Lawn and Landscape Inc.
Based in Suffolk, Virginia, with offices in Virginia Beach, Yorktown and Richmond, Elizabeth River Lawn and Landscape is a specialized commercial landscape management services company that also handles irrigation, landscape installation, tree care, snow removal and emergency response. All 140 of its employees, along with CEO Jason Fawcett, will stay with the company, according to Davey Tree’s press release.
“Clients will still see the same focus on exceptional service, but also now have access to Davey’s technology and equipment, and research and development capabilities provided by the Davey Institute,” Dan Joy, executive vice president and general manager of commercial landscape services at Davey, said in a statement.
In a 2014 Smart Business article, Davey Tree President Pat Covey detailed the company’s plan to grow through strategic acquisitions, an effort that drove 30 acquisitions over a 10-year stretch and that continues today.
