LJB Inc. has acquired GGJ Inc., a multidisciplinary design firm with its corporate office in Eastlake.

Established in 1987 as Gills, Guard & Johnson, GGJ provides professional landscape architecture, planning, civil and environmental engineering, water resources, surveying, and construction inspection services, primarily for municipalities and other public entities.

“We’re excited to add the technical expertise and relationships fostered by GGJ during the past 30 years,” LJB CEO Rod Sommer said in a statement. “We’ve had an office in the Cleveland market for more than a decade, and we’re proud to further invest and increase our capabilities in the northern Ohio region.”

GGJ brings 11 employees to LJB’s growing national team. Dayton-based LJB has been executing a targeted growth strategy for the past several years, and this acquisition marks the third for the company in the last 14 months. LJB holds professional engineering registrations in all 50 U.S. states and maintains offices in the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Southeast, Gulf Coast and Western regions.

GGJ Owner and President Robert Jurs added: “This merger clearly strengthens two great companies with similar culture. I’m most excited for our clients in northern Ohio, who will certainly benefit from the new and bolstered capabilities brought on by this business relationship.”
