NPK Construction Equipment Inc., a Walton Hills-based manufacturer of construction and demolition equipment, has bought Genesis Attachments LLC, a designer and manufacturer of mobile shears, scrap grapples, concrete processors and specialty attachments, from New York private equity firm KPS Capital Partners.

Superior, Wis.-based Genesis Attachments was founded in 1997. The company's has a manufacturing facility in Wisconsin that employs 117 people, as well as one in Germany that employs another 15. 

"Because Genesis has been in the market for a long time with such success, NPK doesn’t plan on making changes to the business model, but rather plans on coming together with Genesis to continue improving the experience for our dealers and end users alike," NPK President Dan Tyrrell said in a letter on the company's website.

NPK Construction Equipment is a subsidiary of Nippon Pneumatic Mfg. Co. Ltd.
