Cleveland-based Sweeping Corp. of America has acquired Longwood, Fla.-based USA Services of Florida Inc. and the Midlothian, Virginia-based sweeping business of Hy-Tech Property Services Inc.
The transactions grow SCA’s street sweeping business to 835 employees in 34 locations throughout the eastern half of the U.S. The company bills itself as the largest power sweeping company in the country, providing parking lot, street, highway, construction, industrial and special events power sweeping, as well as jet-vac services to private and government entities.
Included in the two latest acquisitions are seven locations in Florida — Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Cocoa, Fort Myers and Tavares — as well as locations in Richmond, Lorton (Metro DC) and Yorktown, Virginia; Raleigh and Wilmington, North Carolina; and Charleston, South Carolina.
USA Services’ owners Michael Latanza, Carmine Latanza and Eric Seidelman will continue with Sweeping Corp. as shareholders. Michael Latanza joins Sweeping Corp.'s senior management team as regional vice president and will continue to run the Florida operations.
Earlier this year, SCA landed a $60 million credit facility with Comerica Inc. to support add-on acquisitions and its overall growth initiative.
