Snip Internet has completed its purchase of the residential assets of Detroit based internet service provider Rocket Fiber LLC, from Everstream. The acquisition serves as an initial expansion for Snip as they open in additional markets throughout the Midwest in the coming months.

With the close of this purchase, Snip Internet will expand its services into more than 100 multi-dwelling unit residential buildings in Cleveland and Detroit.

“We are all striving to deliver the fastest and most reliable residential internet service possible,” said Robin Doerschuk Vice President / General Manager of Snip Internet. “We are excited about the level of expertise joining us in Detroit as we build out our customer support organization.”

In March, Snip closed its series B funding round of $7.75 million, led by PepperTree Capital. “In the four years since launching, Snip has been building the back office support and network infrastructure to expand into new markets,” said Brett Lindsey, founder of Snip Internet. Milwaukee, WI, and Columbus, OH will both be operational in the third quarter of 2020.

“Throughout the Midwest, the urban revitalization occurring is bringing new residents into downtown areas, driving demand for quality high-speed internet service,” said Doerschuk. “People moving downtown expect their internet service to be reliable and fast, which isn’t the case in many properties today.”
